Consul-General of Nigerian Embassy Confronts Chinese officials Over the Maltreatment of Nigerians in China.

Consul-General of Nigeria confronts Chinese officials over the maltreatment of Nigerians in China.

The Consul-General of Nigeria, ‘Mr Anozie Madaubuchi Cyril’ in Guangzhou, China confronted some Chinese officials over the maltreatment of Nigerians days after the video of Nigerians being sent out of their apartments in the Asian country went viral on social media.

He accused Chinese officials of maltreating Nigerians over the COVID-19 disease pandemic in the Asian country.

The ambassador insisted in confirmation that no Chinese citizen has been served same treatment in Nigeria. He also pointed out that same act is not meted out to citizens of other countries where Coronavirus has been confirmed in.

He disclosed that most Nigerians who are victims of the Chinese government maltreatment live in China and have not been out of the country due to the seizure of the passports of Nigerian nationals in Guangzhou.

According to Anozie, the seizure of the international passports of the Nigerians was an affront to Nigeria and tantamount to seizure of Nigeria as a country.

He further contended that the passports were property of the Nigerian government and China had no right to seize them.

Anozie, who was shown in one of the videos snatching the passports from the Chinese officials, is believed to have acted following reports that Chinese officials had been maltreating Nigerians, hoarding them out of their houses into quarantine, which continued even after they had tested negative to the COVID-19 virus.

5G might expose Nigeria to “eavesdropping, tracking, cyber-attacks, military and industrial espionage” – NSA

The office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) has expressed its fear with the deployment of 5th Generation (5G) technology in the country.

Bala Fakandu, director of communications in NSA who appeared before the senate committee on communications on Thursday February 25, said they are concerned about the deliberate vulnerabilities and backdoors within the 5G network equipment, which according to him might expose Nigeria to “eavesdropping, tracking, cyber-attacks, military and industrial espionage and other malicious activities by foreign actors.”

Fakandu also asked the ministry of communications and digital economy to carry them along in the formulation of the policy that would guide the use of 5G in the country.

He said;

“We are concerned about the deliberate vulnerabilities and backdoors within the 5G network equipment.

“That is one of the key concerns we have and this will make the infrastructure highly susceptible to eavesdropping, tracking, cyber-attacks, military and industrial espionage and other malicious activities by foreign actors.

“We understand these are things that will be put in place particularly in the policy the minister has talked about.

“I need to emphasise it so that the stakeholders in the telecommunications industry will understand where we are coming from because the national security concerns is the concern of the office of the national security adviser and of the president as well.”

NAF Helicopter Crash in Abuja, 7 Dead

The Nigerian military comprising the Airforce and Army has an ongoing operation to dismantle Eastern Security Network, ESN in Orlu axis of Imo state.

There was chaos early January when joint security team of the Nigerian Police went in search of ESN in Orlu after ESN sacked foreign Fulani settlers in the forests around Orlu, the police went after ESN and got beaten in their own game which resulted in the invasion of Orlu by Nigerian Army since the police led operation failed.

The outcome of the invasion resulted in many deaths of innocent civilians and casualty in the side of the military; since  then Orlu has not know peace, citizens and residents of Orlu are on the run because the military has descended on the town shooting and bombing from hovering helicopters.

A spokesman for Nigeria’s Air Force said.

“All 7 personnel on board died in the crash,” Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola said on Twitter.
He added that the Chief of the Air Staff has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
“A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute [to] Minna. It appears to be fatal,” said the country’s aviation minister, Hadi Sirika, confirming the incident in a statement.
In a follow-up communication Sunday afternoon, a spokesman at the Ministry of Aviation, James Odaudu, said the “aircraft reported engine failure at time 10:39 and crashed landed on the final approach path of Abuja Runway 22 at time 10:48UTC.”
Odaudu said fire fighters have been deployed to the scene to put out a raging blaze that had engulfed the airplane.
An aviation worker who asked not to be named — citing lack of official clearance to talk to the press — told CNN that he witnessed the crash.
“The crash occurred not very far from the runway. The pilot had tried returning to the runway after taking off,” he said.
The worker said the pilot swerved the plane to its crash site which is in a desolate area. He said the aircraft narrowly avoided warehouses and makeshift settlements around the Nnamdi Azikwe International airport.
